    Job Description
    Community Engagement Coordinator
    POSTION:  Community Engagement Coordinator
    SALARY: Salary from $44,000 commensurate with experience. Generous benefits package, IMRF.
    The Wheaton Public Library is seeking applicants for the position of Community Engagement Coordinator. This individual will be an enthusiastic self-starter with a positive attitude who is eager to get out into the community to build and foster partnerships with local organizations. They will also be tasked with managing the library’s Arts & Culture Center which includes creating attractive displays and exhibits on a rotating basis.
    Responsibilities include:
    • Act as liaison between the library and community organizations, creating and maintaining partnerships and connecting people to resources.
    • Coordinate displays and exhibits in library's Arts & Culture Center, including working with local artists and presenting passive and drop-in art programming to the public.
    • Develop and coordinate programs and special events both in and outside of the library.
    • Serve as library ambassador to the surrounding community by giving tours within the building and presenting to outside groups.
    • Other projects and duties as assigned.
    GENERAL PURPOSE:  Responsible for assuring high patron and employee satisfaction with all aspects of Community Engagement in accordance with current Library policies and procedures and in cooperation with other departments and the Library mission and vision.
    • Bachelor’s Degree minimum requirement.
    • Experience and/or coursework in library outreach, programming, PR/marketing, and/or grant writing is preferred.
    • Experience in managing galleries/exhibits and/or museums are desirable.
    • Valid IL driver’s license required.
    Full time position. Work weekends/evenings/special events as needed.
