Join a Wheaton Chamber Committee or Task Force To Connect with Others and Help the Wheaton Chamber Thrive

Joining a committee or task force is one of the best ways to make the most of your Chamber membership. The relationships that you develop with other members can be invaluable to the success of your business. Committees and task forces also give you a chance to display your talents and expertise in a way that can benefit the Chamber and the business community.

Committees:

Community Relations

Purpose: To promote Chamber visibility in the community and to it's visitors, to partner with Chamber members and other community groups, and to produce the premier place for the community to get their information about business and event happenings in Wheaton.

Time Commitment: 1-2 hours/month

Economic Development

Purpose: To enhance the economic viability of our members and through partnership efforts with the City of Wheaton, the Wheaton Park District, and DuPage County to support the creation of an economically vibrant community that is inviting to newcomers.

Time Commitment: 1-2 hours/month

Government Affairs

Purpose: To focus on local, county, and state legislative issues that affect the business community, and make recommendations to the Board of Directors on behalf of our members to ensure an environment of growth and opportunity.
Time Commitment: 1-2 hours/month

Marketing

Purpose: To promote the Wheaton Chamber of Commerce, enhance its image among its members and the business community, and develop collateral material to promote Wheaton.
Time Commitment: 1-2 hours/month

Membership Development

Purpose: To continually strengthen the Wheaton Chamber in size and variety of membership categories through strategically planned initiatives.

Women in Business

Purpose: To empower professional relationships through learning and leadership development for women in business, supporting the mission of the Wheaton Chamber of Commerce.

TASK FORCES:

Task forces focus on short-term projects. Volunteers work through the planning and execution of the events below. Volunteer positions are varied, so check in with the Chamber staff to see how you can help!

Gamon Awards - February/March

Purpose: An event that celebrates Wheaton's people and businesses with award winners chosen by the Wheaton Community.

A Taste of Wheaton - June

Purpose: A weekend event held in early June. This summer festival is full of family, food, and fun! Festivities include children’s activities, craft show, carnival rides, live entertainment, and food vendors.

Golf Outing - July

Purpose: An event held on a July afternoon which offers a shotgun start to a day of 18 holes of golf, open to all levels of players who like to network, promote business, have some fun, and believe in mulligans.

Steak Fry - August/September

Purpose: A networking event which offers a delicious steak or chicken dinner prepared grill-side with all the trimmings as well as a Chinese Raffle.
