Volunteers Needed for Fine Art Fair

Tuesday, July 8th, 2008

The Wheaton Fine & Cultural Arts Commission is seeking volunteers to help with the Wheaton Fine Art Fair, which will take place July 18-20.

Volunteer shifts vary from 1 ½ to 3 hours, although volunteers are welcome to work as many hours and shifts as they want. Some jobs require physical labor, such as fetching ice and bottled water or assisting artists in setting up and breaking down their exhibits. Other jobs require some amount of walking around and/or standing (such as directing traffic), and some jobs just require sitting in the shade.

If you would like to help, please send an email to ArtsInWheaton@aol.com with your availability and preferred duties.

New Chamber Website Features

Sunday, July 6th, 2008
The Wheaton Chamber of Commerce is excited and pleased to announce the launch of the Chamber’s new website, www.wheatonchamber.com! The website task force has spent considerable time planning this new website for the membership. There are many new features on the site – a few of which are:•Each member now has their own login and password so they can update their membership information at any time, including their online listing.

•All members now have their company descriptions listed on our website in the online directory.

•Improved event registration: every time a member logs in to wheatonchamber.com to register for an event, their information will be pre-populated!

•Searching the Wheaton Chamber Business Directory by name. Quickly find the “Ted” you met at the last luncheon or the “Cheryl” you spoke to at the Business After Hours event.

•An RSS feed on the home page recapping all the latest Chamber events.

•A “Member News” section where members can submit their latest and greatest accomplishments to the Chamber for future publication.

The new site also offers a number of new advertising opportunities for WCC membership. As an incentive to give the new site and advertising a try, the Chamber will discount ads through July 31st.

The Chamber hopes you are just as excited about the new site as we are!
