Alma Dance School Awarded Prestigious Award
Alma Dance School is extremely proud to announce that they have received the Harry Preucil Pro Bono of the Year Award from Turnaround Management Association! In a very special and significant ceremony featuring John Boehner as speaker and Lara Logan as moderator, Alma Dance School was awarded this recognition for outstanding growth and performance as a small company here in Illinois over the past two years. Alma Dance School is beloved as a premier ballet school devoted to Cuban-Method ballet training. But is also a new small business (only 3 years old). Alma had been a real success story for a small business devoted to the arts and dance. In its first full year of operation, Alma created and performed a full-legnth Nutcracker Ballet, complete with costuming and scenery. For tremendous efforts in the field of the arts and as a small business success-story, Alma was awarded the distinction. The level of effort required to execute a full production of the Nutcracker is exceptional and it is rarely endeavored by new schools or companies. But Alma Dance School, including all of the wonderful students, presented a spectacular production. This hard work was noticed by a group of pro-bono small business management companies (Turnaround Management Association) whose aim is to create an environment for further growth and success. The growth in programming and quality of work provided by Guillermo Levya and Vilma Machin has certainly been noticed in the arts community and this award was presented to Alma in recognition. Through this award, Alma hopes to further emphasis the high quality of work produced by our students and assure them that this is an experience that they will find in no other studio. Many Alma students are destined for careers in ballet. It truly is amazing how far everyone has come in such a short period of time! Congrats to everyone!
