We are looking for your help in finding veterans for the Congressional Veterans Commendation. The 6th Congressional District is full of brave men and women who have served in our Armed Forces and I would like to honor these brave men and women.  The Congressional Veterans Commendation (CVC) is a nominations-based program designed to publicly recognize the wartime sacrifices and peacetime community involvement of veterans. Those selected as CVC recipients are exceptional Americans in every way – warriors for our nation and heroes within our local community.
To be eligible, veterans must currently reside in the Sixth Congressional District of Illinois.  Nominees must have served as active duty military personnel or been reservists called to active duty and must be retired or honorably discharged from a branch of the United States Armed Forces.
Anyone can serve as a nominator and submit as many nominations as they would like by filling out the 2017 Nomination Form. Complete nomination packets should be mailed, faxed, or hand-delivered to Congressman Roskam’s local office. We have extended the deadline till Friday, October 13, 2017.
To learn more about the Congressional Veteran Commendation, please contact Eddie Corrigan in my District Office at (630) 232-0006 for additional details. I look forward to receiving your nominations.
Very Truly Yours,
Peter J. Roskam
